First Day of School!!

The day after we got back from NJ we started school! It was a REALLY quick turn around! Alan actually was the only one that started the next day. He is in 2nd grade and has been doing well.

Bus stop on the first day!
New school shoes!
The next day was James' kindergarten orientation. I got to go with him to school for a couple of hours. We got to meet his teacher, see his classroom, the cafeteria, etc.
He was a pretty nervous guy. He wouldn't talk to anyone the whole time we were there.

But despite the fact that he wouldn't say a word and hid behind me, he said that he had a great time.
He was super excited to start school, and because of that, was determined to love it.

The next day was his first day on the bus and his first full day alone at school.
We tried to get another bus shot with the kindergarteners, but only one made it in the picture. James and another boy were too nervous for pictures that morning.
Getting some tips from his big brother
Alan sat by him on the first day.
It was a tough goodbye for mama. I was pretty nervous about how he would do on his own. James is pretty unpredictable in this way. But amazingly he loved it. I think it took him a while to warm up to people and talk, but it seems like he is doing great and absolutely loving it!
And here's our Goose on her first day of Joy School! Also James' first day of school. It was quite a day. We were glad to have that first week over with. :)  But all of the kids are loving school and doing great!

Philadelphia Temple Open House

When we went to NJ we also got to go through the Philadelphia Temple for the open house. It was the first time the kids had been inside a temple. We were there on the busiest weekend...Labor day weekend two right before it closed.  So there were a lot of people there, but it was still a wonderful experience and a lot of fun. We absolutely loved it. It is so nice to have a temple in Philly. We got to meet up with some of Scott's family: his cousins James and Kirsten and their families. We had cheese steaks afterwards and it was really fun to be able to catch up with them. Such fun people. We are excited to be able to go to the temple again next time we're in NJ.

Atlantic City trip

We were so lucky to have a little Foulk family reunion this year as well. All of my siblings except Nate, who is serving a mission in Russia, were able to be there. My parents had a time share in Atlantic City, and we had a wonderful time at the beach!

On the way to Atlantic City, we stopped at the Cape May Zoo!

Ok, so I know there are a lot of these, seven to be exact, but they sure are cute little monkeys!

At the beach!

These boys LOVED boogie boarding. Did this all day long.

Can't go to AC without getting a huge pizza!

These pics are so cute. You just can't get enough pictures of this smiley guy!

View from our timeshare tower
She loves it when her aunts do her hair!
No need to add a caption, cause Meg already has

We walked to the top of a lighthouse there. James wanted to count each and every step. Here he is examining the light.
Grandma and Aunt Emily took these kids to the aquarium instead of the light house. Seems like they had a great time!

We all went out to a wonderful dinner at Carmines. It is a delicious Italian restaurant where they serve family sized portions that you can all share. Such good food. Our amazing waiter took this picture.
And this one as well. Apparently James was in one of his anti-picture moods. :)

On the last morning, we walked down to the beach again, before we checked out, to fly some kites.

Some people told me they wouldn't get wet
They always ends up like this. :)

Stopped at Royale Crown for some ice cream!

They love to play Stratego when we go to Grandma's house!
Happy birthday Aunt, Steph!
This guy turned into a major swimmer while we were there. Jumped into the deep end and swam across the pool like a champ. Can't believe less than a month ago he wouldn't jump into his teacher at swimming lessons without holding on! When this boy puts his mind to something, there's no stopping him!
We also loved seeing Evan's chickens.
Goodbye hugs!
And more hugs! We stopped on the way home to see my friend Lindsay and her new house and her sweet new baby!
