Thanksgiving and some extras

Here's to catching up! Starting with some randoms and some Thanksgiving pictures. :)

I just love this picture of Lucy in her winter coat. It looks so nice and clean here at the beginning of the season. :)
The boys didn't want to be left out of the picture taking. Trying to master selfies.
I love this picture. Alan went through a little phase of wanting to shower like Dad. Apparently he also decided that he wanted to hang his pj's on the towel rack like Dad too. What can I say, like father, like son. :)
Lucy LOVES to build block towers.
She was quite proud of herself.
She has to get it just right... and loves to knock them down too. :)
We love it when Grandma and Grandpa come over to do laundry! They play all sorts of fun games with us!
I honestly can't remember what prompted this...put they are pretty cute!
We love our joy school friends! It is a great group of kids, with their own unique personalities. Here is James reading them a book that he has memorized.
We love to go Grandma and Grandpa Robertson's house for FHE. Here we are hearing a fun Tom the Turkey story.
And Alan has named Grandma the best desert designer! I have to agree!
The day before Thanksgiving we got a little snow. The boys were thrilled.
Lucy was hesitant.
It was our first snow of the season. Looking back...it looks like a pretty lame amount of snow! But the boys had fun building a snowman anyway. :)
Lucy...turned out she had reason to be hesitant.
These boys decided to gather all of their various Thanksgiving crafts and creations and hang them up on their bedroom door.
I guess we didn't get many pictures of the meal itself, besides this beautiful fruit turkey, but it was yummy.
And here is a family photo on Thanksgiving day. We are truly grateful for this!!
They day after Thanksgiving, Alan and Dad went to play some Turkey bowl in the snow.
And the pie and video games afterwords were a hit too.

Halloween Fun

So Halloween seems to be more of a season than an event these days. Here are all of the pictures from all of the Halloweenish events this October: pumpkin carving, Alan's school party, joy school party, trunk or treat, Scott work party...not to mention the actual night.

Pumpkin carving

Trying on the costumes

Joy School Fun! (James was a great singer!)

These jars were our "conference craft." Alan and James and I worked on them during some of the sessions of conference to help keep everyone happy.

She LOVED carrying around all three pumpkins. It would take her a little while to get them all loaded up, then she'd walk to the other side of the room. Put them down, and pick them all back up again. Pretty funny!

Alan's school had an awesome Halloween party one Friday night. They had tons carnival games, arts and crafts, treats, pumpkin decorating, etc. It was really fun! There was also a parade, but it was kind of late, crazy, meltdowns, anyway, we left before that, but still had a fun evening!

Of course we had the ward Trunk-or-Treat with a talent show added this year!

On Halloween Day, Amazon had a Halloween party for the family. We got to see where Scott worked (which is usually not allowed) and trick or treat at some of his co-workers desks. Then there was a little party area with food, coloring, and the Charlie Brown Halloween. So fun!

In the parking garage... Alan desperately wanted these pictures. :)

After the work party and stopping at Grandma and Grandpa's, we got home, ate some chili and rushed out the door for a little trick or treating!

Lucy and I only did a few houses, so that I could come back and hand out candy. She spent most of the evening emptying the candy bowl and throwing it down the stairs. She was quite pleased with herself.

After all was said and done, the boys picked their chips to eat on Halloween night. Go figure!
