Finals: 10 down; 10 to go

Well, if you think in binary.

But now it's Sunday, so no school today. Happy Sabbath!

Happy Spring Break!

No lie. This is what it looked like out my window on my first day of spring break.

And this morning there was probably at least 5 inches on my car.

Happy Spring!

Easter Fun!

We just wanted to put up some pics of our wonderful Easter Sunday. Scott's been busy with projects/school as the end of the semester is fast approaching, but we had a nice break on Sunday. Our day began when we got up before church to dye Easter eggs. Then we had a wonderful time at church with some beautiful musical numbers. I think the nursery kids even understood some of the lesson we taught them on the resurrection! When we went into singing time one of the kids told a leader that Jesus wasn't there when they moved the rock. :) It was pretty funny.

Then we had Michael, Dean, and Mandy over for some Easter dinner. We even cooked a ham. Pretty sure that's a first since we've been married. Everything turned out quite delicious as well. We had made some egg-shaped sugar cookies to decorate, but ran out of time before dinner. So we had a little "activity" in which we decorated them afterwords. Scott had given me some markers for my birthday that can write on cakes/cookies. We gave them a try, and everyone seemed to quite enjoy it. Scott says that next time we'll just invite people over for another "activity" called cook the ham. Somehow I don't think that would go over quite as well.

Overall it was a wonderful Sunday, and we are very grateful for friends, family, and the sacrifice of our Savior that makes everything possible.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

So you learn a lot of things growing up the oldest in the family, and witnessing your mom's later pregnancies. For some reason, the bit of information that has always stuck with me is that the glucose test is the worst thing imaginable. I've been dreading it since I was like 12- no lie. I don't know if my mom stressed this a ton, or if her description just made a more vivid impression than most things. But anyway, I was dreading it.

Then I took the one hour screening test- fully expecting to die on the spot. Much to my surprise, it wasn't that bad! Gosh, I thought, this is a piece of cake... or a little sweeter. Totally, not bad. Then, it came back too high, so I had to take the three hour test. Worst experience of my life! I could barely get the stuff down, and keep it down after that. So after 5 hours at the hospital on Saturday, I finally had that one over. I thought, even if I have gestational diabetes, eating healthy for a couple months won't be near as bad as that test!

But the good news is that it came back negative. :) Should have listened to my mom on that one too. She always had to go back for the 3 hour, and never had gestational diabetes. I kinda wish we could skip that step, but oh well. We celebrated by eating bowls of sugar for dinner. haha, not really - we had a real nutritious meal. I'm still gonna try to watch the sugar intake, but it is kind of nice to not have to worry about it quite as much.
