However, after aforementioned tick incident, we decided it was best to break down and give a summer haircut. Alan went first and started screaming the moment we mentioned the word. He did do a little better this time, though, as he wasn't convulsing during the haircut and calmed down the moment we turned off the buzzer.
Enter James. Calm James. He smiles and laughs as Scott and Alan distract him and doesn't mind a bit as I snip his hair. We'll see how he handles it when he knows what is going on. :) But the whole time Alan was just telling him, "Wow, James! You're doing such a good job!" It was hilarious. Then Alan decided he wanted a scissor haircut right then. We'll see how he feels about it next time.
I thought this picture was a good representation of our boys and their current temperaments. :) And we love them both. |
Lookin' so good with their new haircuts! That is so funny that James is showing Alan how to be calm. Of course, it seems like James is always a smiley, happy little guy! Can't wait to see you guys soon!!
ReplyDeleteLove the bottom picture. Alan looks like a little savage, in the Rousseauian state of nature kind of way, of course (I'm drawing vaguely on what I remember from political philosophy 202, which isn't much): like a cute little innocent savage. Hmmm, this makes me wonder what James looks like. Kind of like a rugby player I think, a burly Britisher maybe. They both look great :) Cute haircuts and cute pics!
ReplyDeleteI love that Alan became the encourager when it was James' turn. These are two very cute little boys. We sure love them!!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious :) Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
