A Hundred Acre Halloween

Here are the obligatory pictures of my boys in their costumes.  I had originally picked out two costumes at Walmart for super cheap- Spiderman and a pirate.  Alan had been on a Spiderman kick.  Turned out he was afraid of the costume.  So I returned it and asked my mom to look in her costume box and find something that Alan could wear.  She found Tigger, which Alan LOVED.  He put it on every morning for a week after they left and bounced around the house.  Eventually we figured out that it didn't seem to fit to have a pirate with Tigger, so I got a Winnie the Pooh costume off of Craigslist.  And then returned the pirate.  So much for planning ahead and thank goodness for Walmart returns.  Here are the pics of our cute boys at the ward trunk or treat and on Halloween night.

Getting ready to go to the trunk or treat
James was a little bit wary
He needed his big brother to show him the ropes
This is the reason there is chocolate on Alan's face in every other picture. :)
James was so funny at the trunk or treat.  He would always go up to a car and do nothing.  So I would take a piece of candy and put it in his basket.  And then without fail he would want to get another and would freak out when we had to go to the next car.  And then he would stand at the next car and wouldn't take anything.... repeat the entire time. :)

Getting ready for a race
Smiley Tigger
Alan sorted his candy by color
We made these cream cheese/olive/avocado rice cake jack o lantens to go along with our chili on Halloween night. As you can see Alan preferred a chip jack o lantern. Oh well.
Cute boys all ready to go!
And here's the haul.  Both boys had a very fun night.  James was insistent that he carry his bucket on his arm and when I would try to take it so that he could take a piece of candy, he would freak out and put it back on his arm.  Alan was bouncing at every door.  Quite appropriate I guess.  All in all a very fun Halloween!

  1. Oh this is just way too stinking cute. So funny that James had such a hard time with it! He seems pretty happy in the pictures though!!
